We're straight-up honest about how we handle your info
Last Updated: November 6, 2025
But here's the deal: we're a small shop in Vancouver that works on European cars. We're not some massive corporation selling your data to the highest bidder. We collect what we need to fix your car, send you reminders, and maybe shoot you a text when your winter tires are ready. That's pretty much it.
When you bring your BMW, Audi, or whatever European ride you've got into our shop, we're gonna need some basics:
We don't collect anything weird like browsing habits or social media stalking. Just the basics to run a repair shop.
Pretty straightforward stuff here. We use your info to:
Book appointments, order parts, keep track of what maintenance you've had done. Can't fix your transmission if we don't know it's you.
Send reminders about winter tire swaps, follow up on how that brake job went, let you know about recalls if they pop up.
Obviously we gotta charge you for the work. Invoices, receipts, all that fun accounting stuff.
Sometimes we're legally required to keep records - warranty claims, safety recalls, that kind of thing.
We might send occasional emails about seasonal services (like "hey, time for winter tires") but we're not bombarding you with spam. You can opt out anytime.
We're not in the business of selling your data. Here's the short list of who might see your info:
We DO NOT: Sell your info to marketers, share it with random third parties, or do anything shady. We're mechanics, not data brokers.
We take security seriously, even if we're covered in grease half the time:
No system's perfect, but we do our best to keep your info safe. If there's ever a breach, Canadian law requires us to notify you - and we absolutely would.
Here's the reality - we keep service records for a while because they're actually useful:
| Type of Information | How Long We Keep It | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Service records | 7-10 years typically | Warranty purposes, tracking maintenance history, legal requirements |
| Financial records | 7 years | Tax and accounting laws in Canada |
| Contact info | Until you ask us to delete it | So we can reach you for future services |
| Marketing communications | Until you unsubscribe | Only if you've opted in to begin with |
If you haven't been in for 10+ years and we don't hear from you, we'll eventually purge old records. But honestly, most customers appreciate having that service history on file.
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA, specifically), you've got rights. Here's what you can do:
Want to see what we have on file? Just ask. We'll show you your service records, contact details, whatever.
Wrong phone number? Moved? Let us know and we'll update it. Accurate info helps us serve you better anyway.
You can ask us to delete your info, but we might need to keep some records for legal or warranty reasons. We'll explain what we can and can't delete.
Don't want seasonal reminders or service emails? Click unsubscribe or tell us. We won't be offended.
Our website isn't doing anything crazy. Here's what's going on:
Most browsers let you block cookies if you want, though some site features might not work as well. Up to you.
If we ever need to update this policy - maybe laws change, we add new services, whatever - we'll post the new version here with an updated date at the top.
For major changes, we'll probably send an email or put up a notice. But realistically, we're a small auto shop. Our privacy practices aren't changing much year to year.
If something in here doesn't make sense or you've got questions about how we handle your information, just reach out. We're not hiding behind legalese - we'll explain things in plain English.

You also have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you think we've mishandled your personal information. But hopefully it doesn't come to that - we'd rather work it out directly.

We're here to fix cars, not collect data. We handle your information the way we'd want ours handled - with respect and common sense. Any questions, just holler. We're in Unit 6 on Industrial Way, usually covered in brake dust and happy to chat.
